Rapid Resist recruits crowds at a moments notice to persuade lawmakers that can make or break Trump's agenda. In 6 months we've sent 4 million texts and recruited 88,367 activists in conservative areas on behalf of over 250 local groups. Next up, we're asking those activists to run for office. Read our ridiculously glowing review from Fast Company.
We're also the largest text-bank in the country, so you get to be the champion of text-banking.
Program Coordinator - Candidate Recruitment
Rapid Resist Action is seeking a full-time Program Coordinator for our Candidate Recruitment program. Your work will be to manage our the largest peer texting machine in the country to recruit 10,000 people to run for office and prove that at least 500 of those filed to run in crucial, otherwise uncontested down-ballot races in 2018.
We've got partnerships with 75 county party chairs and 4 state parties, as well as Run for Something and other national training programs.

You’ll also have to respond immediately, potentially during evenings or weekends, to assist texters or organizing partners or when events change on the ground and we need to update our systems.
You'll put together and manage a calendar of candidate recruitment texting and make sure all of our data is aligned to get all the relevant information to potential candidates and pass off candidates to training partners.
Then you'll measure our impact by running text surveys.

Join our (unpaid) leadership team!
As Rapid Resist grows, we need a few dedicated super-volunteers to take additional responsibilities. We respond to the most critical organizing moments in the country within an hour, but we need our two full-time staff to work on turning activists into candidates and making sure the organization exists in the future.
We can promise you endless appreciation on social media, free swag and consideration for paid opportunities when we come into our next big donor! We'll also list you on our team on our website.
What do you do?
All positions are remote but regular video check-ins are required. Each of these positions are 3 month commitments. These descriptions are intentionally vague because our business will be changing a little in the new year, and therefore these roles will be changing as well. We are looking for people who are comfortable with ambiguity and also excited to help guide the development of our work.
Keep our texters happy and keep Rapid Resist's reputation for awesome service!
This will take someone who is pretty much always at their phone/laptop and able to answer quick questions. You'll be responding to requests for support on one of the following platforms: email, Slack or Facebook - questions such as how to sign up for workflows, how to respond, and so on. Help free up Cassie's attention so she can go save the world!
Keep the machine rolling with more workflows for our volunteers.
You're available at your laptop to do short spurts of focused work quite flexibly. We need you to respond to requests for new scripts or script changes, put up new workflows in Hustle and manage our volunteer sign-up form when goals are closed.
Help curate the most important organizing moments in the country.
You'll do some light checking in throughout the day, and occasionally you'll have longer spurts of focused research.
In 2018, we’ll be doing more focused work identifying townhalls, legislator bird-dogging opportunities (by scouring their twitter, fundraising pages, etc.), and other creative ways we can work with grassroots groups to support the really important work they are doing.
Training and Text-Bank Coordinator
You'll be needed to support trainers and text-bank hosts, especially as needs change for training resources and materials.
You'll run "train-the-trainers" as needed, and ad-hoc for individual text-bank hosts that can't make it to trainings. You'll also support text-bank hosts as they are running text-banks if they are having technical challenges. You would need to be available often in the evenings and during the weekend.
You’ll work closely with the other roles listed here to understand and support their work.
You’ll look for opportunities to engage our massive army (800+) of texters to reduce costs and demands on paid staff. You will scope responsibilities for volunteers and create structures that support volunteers doing great work.
